		<description>Tiffany, I did some research and they apparently poison the carp because carp are known to create muddy waters, which interferes with ducks&#039; ability to see through the water and find food.  Fewer carp mean more ducks, which in Utah means more hunting.  Hunting is huge in Utah.  

I try very hard to not be critical of the hunters because both birders and hunters want the same land to be maintained.  But it&#039;s hard when I read articles about the affects of their lead-based ammunition.  http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_14451090
