Thanks Cynthia! I love your blog too. :-)

Provo is a great place for birdwatching. I can't wait for spring so I can go back and see the Cedar Waxwings.

Elizabeth--I love your blog and share your enthusiasm for birds. I have never seen a meadowlark and yet, when I was growing up in Provo, was told they were all around and I could recognize them by their call:
Provo City is a pretty little place.

Thanks mom!

Delia, that is so fun! I should see whether the Western Meadowlarks have a special call too. I haven't been close enough to hear them make noise.

There was a big field near the Marsh House where I lived for a while here in PA, and all I had to do was whistle the "spring of the year" Eastern Meadowlark call and all these EAMEs would come out of their cover and start calling back. Sometimes a few would take to the air and circle over my head, trying to figure out where the intruder was. It was awesome!

Beautiful photos! I love Meadowlarks - they're unusual to see around here. Love the yellow flowers in that meadow - really illustrates how the coloration makes sense. :-)
