Cockatiel Toy

It’s very important to keep your cockatiels occupied with toys.  Birds need to be stimulated.  Trevor has taken an interest in the toy below.  Can you see Trevor eyeing it?

The toy is a bunch of shredded paper stuck through two holes.  On another side of the box there is a wooden block and a bell.  I took the clapper out of the bell because it scares the birds.  Trevor likes pulling on the paper strings.

He’s started chewing the wooden block but I can’t get a picture of it because Trevor is very private about his block chewing.  I can’t wait until he starts chewing the box itself and discovers all the paper inside.  By the way, all the rainbow beads next to Trevor are the remnants of his favorite popsicle toys.  He likes to preen the fluffy ends of the toys.

Your guys are so cute! It’s so curious to me that Trevor is so secretive; Cook is the exact opposite and will only do things if I’m looking lol. Awesome toy for them too.

Cockatiels are cursed because they are very curious about things and also terrified. I think that’s what leads to Trevor’s secretive behavior.

  3. Now that’s an imaginative toy for Trevor! We had a cockatiel for years. He was a playful fellow, too.

I was worried at first that the toy was too big for him but Trevor isn’t concerned about size. As long as you don’t move too quickly with a new object he’s fine.

They don’t like unstable things; I can’t imagine the cockatiels getting on things that roll. Cute picture, though!
