Honeycreepers

I still have lots of pictures from Costa Rica.  I took over 5,000 pictures.  I saw two different honeycreepers.  This is the Green Honeycreeper.

 

 

He was always hiding out in the trees.  Amazingly, he’s a type of tanager.  It felt like 50% of the birds in Costa Rica were tanagers.  I also saw Red-legged Honeycreepers but they were very hard to photograph.  I love this one of the male and female because the lighting washes all the color except for the male’s bright legs.

 

 

Here’s a fuzzy pictures of the male where you can see his bright feathers.

 

 

Here’s a fuzzy picture of the female.  She doesn’t even have red legs.
