The chickadees are my favorite backyard bird because they answer my calls.

They’re also even prettier now that I can photograph them with my new lens. ┬áThe details are so amazing.

Chickadees are as small as 4.7 inches long including their tail and the body is only 2.4 inches.  The white edges along the feathers are used as a distinguishing feature between different types of chickadees.

Like the scrub jays, the chickadees are big fans of my sunflower seeds.

I miss chickadees; the cheery song and pingpong ball body. You can really see the texture of their feathers in these shots; great job. And keep planting sunflowers (amazing how they can stick to them like that).

I’m really interested in the white specs in his bib. The pictures online didn’t have the white. Maybe eating from my yard turns birds leucistic?
