Horned Lark

I’ve posted pictures of the Horned Larks from the summer.  But they’re even prettier in the winter because of all the snow.

This was taken on Antelope Island.  We had a lot of snow this past week and it’s made the island look like another planet.

The Horned Larks don’t seem to mind the snow at all.  This guy was eating at the stalk.

I had hiked up Buffalo Point hoping to get a shot at some chukars, but this guy made up for my chukar problem.

Beautiful landscape, desolate and brutal, but so pretty. I love all of these photos – what a tough little bird.

It’s amazing because a few weeks ago there was no snow on the ground and the landscape looked completely different.
