Flowers

Last weekend Jon and I took our friends and their daughter G to Farmington Bay so I could teach her about birds.  G is possibly the cutest little girl to ever exist.

I’m not sure how much she enjoyed the birds, but she was really excited about the flowers.  At G’s request I took pictures of some of the flowers.  This one is called Musk Thistle.  It’s very common and usually covered in bees.

If you can believe it, this is also a picture of Musk Thistle, just at an earlier stage.

I think this one is called Chicory.  There’s another blue flower common to Utah called Blue Flax, but it’s petals are even along the edge.  This one has ragged edges.  Also the stamen and the anther look different (sorry if I’m using the terminology wrong, I don’t know anything about flowers).

This website is a great resource for Utah flowers.
