Our birds are so spoiled. We had three cages connected for the birds to run on top of and play. Jon suggested that we add a fourth cage so that Audrey could have some space. The fourth cage is on the right in this picture.
Birds always want to be as high as possible. So instead [...]

Trevor is making huge strides in being a human-friendly bird.
It started with slow steps at night. He would let me snuggle with him a little at night. Then he became more willing to let me snuggle him during the day. Then he enjoyed my presence in general. Trevor especially enjoys sitting on a pillow behind [...]

Audrey understands acoustics. He knows that if he yells from on top of his cage, he’s easy to ignore. But when Audrey is on the floor and he yells from the top of the stairs, his screech carries.
Audrey will brook no dissent from the humans.

On a happier note, I stumbled upon a website where a musician makes music inspired by his cockatiel. Some of the songs even include clips of the bird!

The baby has reached the stage where he wants to join the other cockatiels. If I bring Conner and Audrey on the bed, the baby flies over. If I pick up the baby he chirps miserably until he’s reunited with the others. Every night the cockatiels have to walk across the floor. This time, Conner [...]

The baby does not have the best diet. If it were up to him, he would eat 100% millet.

When we were looking for baby birds, I selected one breeder because she bred white-faced cockatiels. We visited the breeder’s home and the baby was not cuddly and was a little small but he was beautiful! I became concerned, though, after looking at the condition of all the cages. They were filthy. The breeder had [...]
