Oh, I love Antelope island and you so make me miss that place! I am hoping to come back up there for a visit before I return to the east coast. Good spotting on that juvie glossy (if that is what it is.)

They actually do sleep during the day – they are nocturnal birds! Good spotting and great photos!

Tiffany, I didn’t get great shots so I didn’t post them, but I was able to watch two babies climb up the parent’s back. I about died from cuteness overload.

It’s really amazing how different they look in the winter.

Thanks! I was looking at the photo all disappointed because he’s not in focus, and then I saw the poo!

That is so exciting Tiffany. I’ve dreamed of being one of those people who reports new sightings to the official committee but because I’m such a beginner, I haven’t had the chance. Now is my opportunity!

Hey, I only get to see them in their winter plumage. Incredible breeding plumage! I know it serves a purpose, but damn if babies tucked into their parents back isn’t the cutest.

Aw, I wish Niblet was more snuggly! They shouldn’t have all that soft fur if they don’t want to be snuggled.
